Basic science is an academic field that tries to understand phenomena occurring in nature and to find out the principles hidden in it, and the principles and theories identified in this way are the basis for the development of engineering and applied science. The basic science department at our university was first established in 2015, focusing on the mathematics and physics majors. Professors in the basic science department are conducting a wide range of research from the pure field trying to find principles hidden in natural phenomena to the application field to solve various application problems occurring in industrial sites based on this. In addition, our basic science department is in charge of mathematics and physics education for engineering students at our university, laying the foundation for major education and fostering excellent engineers with both analytical skills and creativity.
